This webinar was conducted with our experts from Rbiopharm Germany. They were Mr Stefan Schmidt, Product Manager Allergens, who is a long serving personnel in Rbiopharm and thus very much involved in the allergen new kits development, advises on allergens management and participates in regulatory updates;Dr Caroline Knoll, Product Manager qPCR, who has been with Rbiopharm for almost 4 years; her main subject was DNA extraction and RTPCR where she had a Masters of Science (Wine Biotechnology); and Ms Anna Lisa Gerardo, Junior Product Manager, who had a Masters in Science (Biology) who delved on lateral flows and ELISAs.

About 2 - 8 % of the worldwide population suffer from food allergies, the number of unreported cases of food intolerances is far higher. The symptoms vary from slight prickling in the mouth to anaphylactic shock.Currently, there is no effective therapy for the treatment of food allergy, sensitive patients have to avoid the allergen in their food. For that reason, it is important to label allergens on food and test products for allergens. The Singapore Food Regulations covered in detail about labelling requirements.

We had good responses and attendance from Food & Beverage customers and independent testing labs.We will continue to bring good and relevant topics to our customers.
